-
This group utilizes tabletop roleplaying games (aka TTRPGs), which are live multi-player games during which players collaborate to create and act out a story, usually involving characters in a fictional world, guided by a set of rules and a facilitator “game master.” One of the most well-known TTRPGs is Dungeons and Dragons (aka D&D).
-
This group is based in the concepts of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on accepting difficult thoughts and feelings rather than trying to control or suppress them by building psychological flexibility and living in alignment with your values. Other therapeutic tools and approaches may be incorporated as well, in response to the therapeutic needs of the participants.
-
This group is open to adults age 18+ located in California. Anyone is welcome, but prior D&D experience is suggested.
-
The group will meet weekly on Thursdays at 4:30 starting January 8th. The campaign requires a minimum commitment of 10 sessions, and each session is expected to last two to three hours.
-
Seats are available on a sliding scale of $45 to $150 per session, for a minimum of 11 sessions (one initial intake session plus 10 group sessions).
-
Tender Heart Healing Arts does not accept insurance at this time. However, we are happy to provide superbills upon request to individuals who are eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.
-
If you would like to join the group, please fill out the interest form at the bottom of this page. Az will conduct a 15-minute phone screening with anyone who’s interested. If you’re a good fit for the current campaign, you will then meet with Az for a 50-minute one-on-one therapy session prior to the start of the campaign. (If not, don’t worry—you will be placed on a waitlist for future campaigns!)
At this time the group is expected to be limited to five or six participants, so submit the form as early as possible to claim your spot.
-
All campaigns will be hosted virtually (online) using Zoom. You do not need a Zoom account of your own to participate—just an internet connection, a webcam, and a microphone.
-
Due to licensing laws regarding the practice of psychotherapy, individuals outside of California are unable to participate in this group.
-
If you aren’t a good fit for the first group or if scheduling is an issue, please use the “Email Az” button below to be considered for future campaigns.
