Danielle Herrera Marvin

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #124770

Currently accepting virtual clients only

Danielle is a daughter, sister, friend, auntie, Lover, poet, avid reader, and student of Inayati-Maimuni Sufism. She is a queer, detribalized mixed-Indigenous woman of Chiricahua Apache, Pascua Yaqui, Chicana, and Filipina descent. Danielle was born and raised in San Pedro, California (Tongva Land), and currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area (Ohlone Land).

Professionally Danielle serves as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and consult, and educator. She has over a decade of experience in a counseling capacity, beginning with her work as a peer counselor during her freshman year at UCLA. With reference to her work, Danielle likes to say that she “get[s] to love people for a living.” She provides psychedelic psychotherapy (ketamine-assisted) and integration; faith-based psychotherapy; spiritual emergence integration; and couples/relationship, family, and friendship therapy.

Danielle’s framework is Jungian, emotion-focused, somatic, and spiritual, and centers warmth and relationships. She has experience and works enthusiastically with Indigenous, Sufi/Muslim, Christian, Catholic, Yogic, and Pagan traditions, as they may be relevant to her clients.

Danielle founded Tender Heart Healing Arts in January 2024 in order to provide employment for and mentorship to select supervisees who align with the ethos of Danielle’s practice. She takes a decolonial, non-pathologizing, harm reduction approach to psychotherapy and to her clients, and believes deeply in the power and efficacy of Spirit and Love in the therapeutic process.

Although Danielle’s caseload is mostly full, she will have a few slots opening up in late July and August of 2025 for teletherapy-only clients. She is always happy to provide referrals to trusted clinicians if needed.
